Books are amazing. Let me just state that for the record. They can take you to
places you've only imagined or dreamed about. And can even change the way you
look at the world around you.
But the best kinds of books are the
ones that show you how the other half live. The ones that let you be a rock
star for a while or a big time movie star. So, with that in mind, here's a list
of the 5 books I've read that made me feel like a star.
1. "Guitar Girl" by Sarra Manning
Besides the Bible, this book is
probably my favorite book. It's funny, it's relatable, and it's about rock
stars. What more do you need? It's about a British girl named Molly who starts
a band with her friends and shoots to super stardom. The story follows the
group as they journey from a little garage band to the big time. Along the way,
Molly finds love, heartbreak, and the adventure of a life time.
2. "Diary of a Teenage Girl: Chloe series" by Melody Carson

Like "Guitar Girl" this series is a about a group of friends who become stars, Christian rock stars to be exact and they have just as many problems as Molly. There's actually 4 books in this series so you feel like you get to know the characters better. Just like the title suggests, the books are written like a diary, so it gives it a realistic quality. It definitely taught me some things and I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good series to read next.
3. "Secrets of my Hollywood Life series" by Jen Calonita

Jen Calonita is an amazing writer and this series doesn't disappoint. It's about a teenage TV star named Kaitlin Burke who wants to be a normal girl. So, with the help of her glam squad, she goes incognito and enrolls in high school. There she meets mean girls, disgusting lunches, and a cute boy who has no clue she's really his celebrity crush. It's a really great story and you can follow Kaitlin's story from book 1 to book 6.
4. "Audrey Wait!" by Robin Benway

This story is actually told from the point of view of a girl who's ex-boyfriend wrote a song about her and got famous off it. She inspired him to write a hit. Who knew? Well, this is about what happens when the world finds out Audrey's identity after the song hits the charts. It's a funny, quick, and interesting read. It poses the question: what would you do if you had paparazzi stalking you for being the inspiration for a song?
5. "Braless in Wonderland" by Debbie Fisher Reed

Debbie Fisher Reed wove a great story about a girl named Allee who gets scouted at the mall by a modeling agent and moves to Miami to follow her dreams. She makes some interesting friends and gains some confidence, but she also learns that the modeling world isn't what she thought it'd be and ultimately wonders if there's more to life than just modeling.
