Vampire Kisses by Ellen Schreiber
If you liked Twilight then you'll love the Vampire Kisses series. First off, this series has 9 books and each one is better than the last. But personally, the first book has always been my favorite.
This book had me laughing out loud. Honestly, while I reading some of the dialogue I started giggling like a loon. My mom was like, "Are you ok?" And I couldn't answer her because it would've taken too long to explain where I was in the book. Talk about #booknerdproblems.
But let's jump into the review, shall we >>>>>
The Characters:
This book has a few characters but the main one is a girl named Raven. Raven is the only goth girl in her town aptly called Dullsville and while she does have 1 best friend (a farm girl named Becky) she's kind of a town outcast because of her cryptic style. But she's got a great sense of humor and doesn't let the haters get her down, especially not Trevor - the most popular boy in school who has a love/hate thing for her.
Anyway, Raven is just living the life of a normal, gothic teenager - going to school, being annoyed by her little brother, ignoring her uptight parents - but everything changes when someone moves into an old, abandoned manor in town that's supposedly haunted. Curious, Raven breaks into the manor and meets Alexander, a really good-looking guy who sleeps all day and stays awake all night. Plus he's really pale and has a live-in butler. Could he be a vampire? Well, yeah, he is, hence the name of the book. And that's when things get really interesting.
The Conflict:
Raven and Alexander hit it off right away and eventually fall in love. But soon Raven finds out that it might not be the easiest thing to do to date a vampire. Will Alexander's secret come out?
You'll have to read it to find out.
All in all, this book is great. It's very entertaining and the author, Ellen Schreiber uses her comedic skills to good use in weaving the story together. I give it a 5 out of 5 stars.
